Dr. Gerasimos Rompotis was born in 1977 in Lefkada, Greece.

He graduated in 2000 from the Department of Economics at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA). In 2002, he obtained his Master’s Degree in Applied Economics and Finance from the same department, and in 2016, he earned his PhD in Economics, specializing in Finance, also from NKUA.

He worked for six years at KPMG Certified Auditors and from 2011 to 2021, he served as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) at Deltia Audit S.A.

Since January 2022, he has been working at Goodwill Audit Services S.A. Dr. Rompotis is a certified CPA both by the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Greece (SOEL) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), UK.

Throughout his professional career, he has participated in numerous audit projects, conducting both regular and specialized audits for major Greek and multinational corporations in the private sector, as well as for public sector entities. His expertise includes Greek Accounting Standards (GAS), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Consolidated Financial Statements of Corporate Groups, and Internal Auditing.

Since 2018, he has been collaborating with the e-learning program at NKUA, developing educational materials and supporting distance learning courses in International Accounting Standards (IAS), International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS), and Internal Auditing. Since 2019, he has been a lecturer in Finance and Accounting for the University of Athens MBA at the Department of Economics, NKUA.

Since 2020, he has been teaching Corporate Accounting in the Applied Economics and Finance (Applied Accounting and Auditing specialization) Master’s Program at NKUA.

His research output is extensive, with over 55 research papers and articles published in international peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Behavioral Finance, Managerial Finance Journal, Journal of Alternative Investments, and Journal of Asset Management.

His research interests focus on international capital markets, institutional portfolio investment, investment behavior, socially and environmentally responsible investing (SRI), and business performance evaluation.
