Dr. Ioannis Thanos is an Assistant Professor of Management at the Department of Business Administration at Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB).

He has worked in the United Kingdom as an Associate Professor of Strategic Management and Director of the PhD Program at the Department of Entrepreneurship and Strategy at Lancaster University Management School, Lancaster University, UK, and as an Assistant Professor of Management at the University of Glasgow, UK.

Dr. Thanos holds a degree from AUEB, a Master’s in Marketing and Strategy from Warwick Business School, University of Warwick, UK, a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice from the University of Glasgow, UK, and a PhD in Business Administration from AUEB.

He has taught management, strategy, leadership, and strategic change management courses in executive education programs and Executive MBA, MBA, and MSc programs at Lancaster University (UK), Sheffield University (UK), University of Glasgow (UK), École des Ponts Business School (France), AUEB, and the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (UoA MBA).

He has repeatedly been recognized and awarded for excellence in teaching by students and colleagues at Lancaster University and the University of Glasgow.

Dr. Thanos is an Associate Editor of the European Management Journal, a Representative at Large of the Strategic Management Society, a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, UK, and serves on the editorial boards of Journal of Knowledge Management and Frontiers in Psychology.

His research has been published in prestigious international journals such as: British Journal of Management, Strategic Organization, Journal of World Business, International Small Business Journal, International Business Review, International Journal of Human Resources Management, European Management Journal, Journal of General Management, Journal of Strategy and Management, Strategic Change, and M@n@gement.

He has received the Emerald Literati Best Paper Award for his publication in the Journal of Strategy and Management.
