Dr. Dimitrios Vasileiou is a Professor of Banking Management at the Department of Economics of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA).
He is the Director of the Master’s Program in Business Administration (NKUA MBA) and the Director of the Athens Banking Laboratory at NKUA.
Additionally, he serves as the Director of the Master’s Program in Banking, Finance, and Financial Technology (FinTech) at the Hellenic Open University.
Dr. Vasileiou holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from NKUA and pursued his graduate studies at the University of Kent at Canterbury, UK, where he earned an M.A. and Ph.D.
He previously served as a Professor of Banking Management at the Hellenic Open University and was the Director of the Master’s Programs in Banking and Business Administration (MBA) at the same university.
He also held the position of Deputy Dean of the School of Social Sciences at the Hellenic Open University and was the Director of the joint Master’s Program in Banking, Accounting, and Finance, co-organized by the Hellenic Open University and the University of Nicosia.
Dr. Vasileiou has extensive professional and teaching experience.
He taught for over 20 years at the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB), where he served as a tenured Assistant Professor of Financial Management and a Lecturer in Financial Management.
He has authored numerous books in the fields of finance and accounting.
He has taught extensively at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels and has published and presented over 80 research articles in prestigious Greek and international scientific journals and conferences.
His current research interests focus on Banking, Finance, Investments, Portfolio Management, and Accounting.
